Elaine Williams
Elaine Williams is Director of Strategic Operations at the NIHR Coordinating Centre.
Elaine has leadership responsibility for a range of strategic and operational services and projects, including the NIHR Centre for Business Intelligence.
For a number of years, Elaine has been closely involved in initiatives to make NIHR processes simpler and more proportionate, and is currently working on the NIHR response to the Tickell Review on reducing bureaucracy in research.
Before joining the NIHR in 2008, Elaine worked for the commercial sector in strategic and management roles for a large international organisation. She then decided to change direction and qualified as an occupational therapist, working within NHS acute medicine at Southampton General Hospital.
