Professor Graham Moore
Professor Graham Moore is the current Chair of the NIHR Public Health Research (PHR) Funding committee.
Graham has held a Personal Chair in the School of Sciences at Cardiff University since 2020 having been Deputy Director of the public health research centre DECIPHer within Cardiff University since 2016. Graham has led the development of guidance for public health intervention research, including MRC commissioned guidance for process evaluation as well as researcher-led MRC-NIHR funded guidance for adapting interventions for use in new contexts.
Graham is a mixed methods researcher and has led or supported a diverse range of public health intervention research over the past 20 years, including natural experimental evaluations of tobacco policy, and trials of interventions in schools and community settings. His research focuses primarily on interventions to improve child and adolescent health, and reduce inequalities.
In addition to his role in the leadership of DECIPHer, Graham is co-lead for mental health in schools within the Wolfson Centre for Young People’s Mental Health, and co-lead for Health and Well-being within the new ESRC leadership hub for behavioural research, Behavioural Research UK. He is also a Senior Research Leader for Health and Care Research Wales.
