We are interested in funding high quality applied health and social care research to increase and improve the evidence base about mental health nursing and the mental health nursing workforce.

Our Health and Social Care Delivery Research (HSDR) Programme is accepting Stage 1 applications to this funding opportunity.

This is a cross-programme funding opportunity. Research proposals must fall within the remit of one of the participating programmes:

All primary research projects are expected to establish a programme appointed Study Steering Committee and it is important that you read the Research Governance Guidelines before completing your application. Costs incurred by this committee should be included in the budget as appropriate.

Timescales

Any changes to these dates will be emailed to all Lead Applicants with an application in progress.

  • Stage 1 deadline: 1pm, 8 January 2025
  • notification of out of remit/non-competitive decision if unsuccessful: mid March 2025
  • notification of Stage 1 funding decision: early April 2025
  • Stage 2 writing window: early April to late May 2025
  • notification of Stage 2 funding decision: early August 2025
  • start date for funded studies: 1 December 2025/1 January 2026
