Background
In 2014 we welcomed proposals for clinical and applied health research into mesothelioma. The NIHR operates a number of research funding schemes, and invited high quality proposals on any aspect of mesothelioma, its prevention, earlier diagnosis, treatment or care (including palliative care), where there are likely to be benefits for patients or their families, within five years of the end of the research.
The NIHR did not run a separate competition for mesothelioma research; applications were considered by the participating programmes’ alongside other research applications in the normal way.
