Elaine O'Flynn
Elaine O’Flynn is the Interim NIHR Director of Communications, joining in April 2024. She is responsible for leading the NIHR corporate communications function and for increasing recognition and understanding of the NIHR.
She is a member of the NIHR Strategy and Engagement Board and the NIHR Centres Executive Board.
Prior to joining the NIHR, Elaine was the Principal Executive Officer to the Vice-Chancellor and President of the University of Leeds. She has held various senior communications roles in HM Government, including Chief Press Officer at No10 Downing Street, Chief Press Officer & Speechwriter at the Department for Exiting the European Union and Head of Brexit Communications at the Northern Ireland Office.
