Dr David Baghurst
Dr David Baghurst is Director of Research Programmes, Infrastructure and Industry Engagement at the NIHR Coordinating Centre.
David oversees:
- several domestic and global health research funding programmes
- Research Infrastructure funding schemes
- support for collaborations across Research Infrastructure and with external partners, including innovative companies.
Before joining NIHR in 2017, David was involved in technology transfer, innovation management and innovation policy work for 20 years and spent five years based in Asia.
He has a DPhil from the University of Oxford and an MBA from Warwick University. David started his career as a lecturer at Imperial College before leaving academia to manage industrial research and development teams and then science-based business incubator projects.
